Just PETS Bird Health Warranty

Dear Customer:

We obtain only the highest quality birds from local breeders with whom we have been dealing for several years.  In most cases, these birds are hand-raised in our store from their forth week of life. Depending on the breed, they may be hand fed by us through the 16th week. This allows us to monitor the health of the bird and allows the bird to be socialized and become accustomed to living with people. Our goal is to provide our customers with a happy, friendly, and healthy pet.  When the bird leaves our care however, we can only assume limited responsibility.

Just PETS provides a five-day conditional warranty for your bird. We recommend that within this five-day period, you have your new bird seen by an Avian Board Certified Licensed Veterinarian. If the vet finds anything wrong with the bird, obtain a written statement describing the illness and return the bird along with the statement to us within five days from the date of sale. We will exchange it for another bird of your choice of equal value, or give you a full refund.  If the vet suggests that the bird stay in his or her care for health reasons, have them call us immediately. We will not be responsible for charges not specifically authorized by us.

If, within this five-day period, you would like to return the bird for any other reason, you may return the bird subject to a 25% charge that will be used to pay for a Certificate of Health from our avian vet. The certificate is mandatory for the resale of a bird that has not been in our care for any period of time. A 25% restocking fee also applies to all cages and bird supplies since they cannot be resold as new.

Avoid the following items in your bird's environment:

·         Air pollutants such as cigarette smoke, insecticides, and toxic fumes from overheated Teflon coated utensils. Be very careful with, or eliminate use of, Teflon-coated irons, ironing board covers, pots and pans. If Teflon (or similar coatings) are overheated for just a short period, fumes will be produced that can quickly kill birds.

·         Cold drafts from air conditioning vents.

·         Access to toxic houseplants, fans, cats and dogs, young children.

·         Do not use cedar, redwood, or pressure treated pine chips as cage litter.

Most parrots have a life span averaging 30+ years, when provided the proper care. The average household environment, however, can be hazardous to the health of the bird. You should familiarize yourself and your family with the environmental hazards to your bird before you bring the bird into your home. We carry several books on the subject and there are several web sites devoted to the subject of bird care.

No warranty or representation has been made with respect to this bird except as set fourth herein.
