     Just Pets Health Warranty

Dear Customer,

We try to obtain only healthy animals, and we provide the highest quality care for them while they are with us. Your puppy has received vaccines and de-worming appropriate for its age. The veterinarians at Reston Animal Hospital have examined this pet and their exam notes are attached. Your puppy has also been protected with a microchip that is implanted just under the skin and will aid in its recovery if it ever becomes lost. This warranty does not cover common ailments such as fleas, ear mites, and/or internal and external parasites.

Puppies must be examined by a licensed veterinarian of the purchaser’s choice, within 10 days of purchase (at the purchaser’s expense). In the event that a licensed veterinarian certifies your animal to be unfit for purchase within ten days following receipt of your animal, you may choose (I) to return the animal and receive a refund of the purchase price or (ii) to return the animal and receive an exchange animal of your choice of equivalent value.

In order to exercise these rights you must present a written veterinary certification that the animal is unfit within three business days after receiving such certification.

In the event that a medical problem is suspected within the 10 day period, the purchaser must contact Just Pets for approval prior to obtaining treatment. Just Pets requires that all approved treatment during the 10 day period be performed at Reston Animal Hospital. Under no circumstances will Just Pets assume responsibility for veterinarian costs not authorized by Just Pets. Just pets will, however, assume a limited responsibility for Veterinarian costs performed at Reston Animal Hospital within this 10 day period as specified in Terms and Conditions.

Taking a puppy into your home is an important decision and requires careful planning and thought. It is also a difficult transition for the animal. Pets may be returned for any reason within 48 hours of purchase for a refund, however, if the puppy is returned for any reason within the 48 hours other than the Vet certification, you will be charged a $150 administrative fee and forfeiture of any deposits used to place the pet on hold.  Supplies that have been used are not returnable. Please consider the responsibilities of caring for your pet for its lifetime before you decide to take it into your home. Puppies may be returned for non-medical reasons after the 48 hour period, but the administrative fee will be increased by 10% of the original price of the puppy for each calendar day the puppy was in your possession.

NOTICE

The sale of certain dogs and cats described as being registered or capable of being registered with any animal pedigree organization is subject to the provisions of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act (59.1-96 et seq.) In the event that a licensed Veterinarian certifies your animal to be unfit for purchase within ten days following receipt of your animal, you may choose: (i) to return your animal and receive a refund of the purchase price or (ii) to return the animal and receive an exchange animal of your choice of equivalent value.

In order to exercise these rights you must present a written veterinary certification that the animal is unfit to the pet dealer within three business days after receiving such certification. If the pet dealer has promised to register your animal or to provide the papers necessary therefore and fails to do so within 120 days following the date of contract, you are entitled to return the animal and receive a refund of the purchase price or to retain the animal and receive a refund of an amount not to exceed fifty percent of the purchase price.

Note: Virginia Consumer Protection Act ( 59.1.96 et seq) A veterinary finding of intestinal parasites shall not be grounds for declaring the animal unfit for purchase unless the animal is clinically ill due to such condition. An animal may not be found unfit for purchase on account of an injury sustained or illness contracted subsequent to the consumer taking possession thereof.

Registration papers, for puppies described as being registered or capable of being registered, are usually available for pick-up after four weeks. Registration papers will be held at Just Pets for 120 days following the purchase. Just Pets will not be responsible for registration of pets after 120 days. Registered puppies are sold as pet quality only and are not intended for breeding.

Three-Year Hereditary Warranty: Registered dogs include a limited three-year warranty from Just Pets on hereditary defects. Reimbursement is limited to the actual purchase price of the dog and will vary based on the severity of the problem. Claims must be made within 30 days of the date of diagnosis. Claims will require supporting documentation from your veterinarian. Limitations are described in Terms and Conditions.
